Anorexia Isn’t Fashionable

I’ve had a clamor about how the world defines beauty and fashionable these days. The change in the concept of what’s beautiful and what’s not probably goes along with the changing times and the invention of technologically advanced medium of communication. The media, for example, affects every fiber of our society.
What we see on the runway is what we perceive as ideal. The term model is now almost synonymous to perfection. The introduction of anorexic and walking “concentration camp” figures resulted in our demented obsession of super-thin and ultra-featherweight appearance. That, ladies, is what the world considers as beautiful.
I beg to disagree though, and so does Giorgio Armani.

Anorexia is an often deadly mental illness which is associated with extreme mental anguish. It is irresponsible to discuss it in such glib terms.
