C PAS 2010 Collection

I headed down to the Collection Pierre André Senizergues (C PAS) showroom in SoHo this past week to view the skater-meets-red-carpet style Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Fashion designer Pierluigi Pucci showed innovative designs – made with army parachutes, mosquito nets, and organic cotton and hand made by Artisans in USA, to fill orders only. Pierluigi spoke to how each season they find innovative ways to use fabrics – organic cotton, army parachute and mosquito net – to suit the seasons trends, yet have pieces – that can stand alone – as timeless classics. The design of the parachute blazer uses mosquito net as a liner so the artisanship is visible. By using recycled materials and shirts – leftover from PAS’ other brands and from the Salvation Army – each piece is unique. Clients also have the option for using a personal t-shirt for the lining in their tailor-made tuxedo. The collection – like any high end designs – can be worn together for a red carpet-ready look or matched with low cost items i.e., pair a blazer with an old t-shirt and jeans for a skater, street-style look.
While this apparel may not appeal to everyone, price points are high – and range from $150 tees to $2,600 blazers – these high quality pieces are classics that can transcend seasonal trends. If you have the dough and it suits your style, these pieces are worth the investment – when was high fashion ever cheap? The apparel is hand-made by artisans in New York and is available only through shop by appointment. Items are made once they are ordered and take roughly 1-3 weeks – which means waste is not created in producing clothing not in demand.
History
Pierre André Senizergues (PAS) is a world champion professional skateboarder and the mastermind behind skateboard footwear and apparel brand Sole Technology – the parent company of etnies, eS, Emerica, ThirtyTwo, and Altamont Apparel. Inspired by the streets, slopes, and ocean, PAS launched a re-used t-shirt line WWP exclusively for high-end boutiques in Paris, France -including Collette – and expanded into the furniture design space with Skate Study House – a skate inspired furniture line, with you-guessed-it recycled skateboards.
Collection Pierre André Senizergues (C PAS) was created soon after PAS appeared on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival in May 2007. As the executive producer for Leonardo DiCaprio’s 11th Hour, PAS was in need of an eco-conscious tuxedo to suite his style. He created a custom tuxedo with Designer Pierluigi Pucci, in a fabric made with recycled cassette tapes, organic wool, and lined with t-shirt fabric left over from other brands.
The tuxedo (coat shown above) served as a muse for C PAS and a statement for innovative fashion. He officially teamed up with Pierluigi Pucci and launched C PAS which is currently available in stores in France, Japan, and shop by appointment in the United States.
