Clogs – Summer 2010 Shoe Trend

A shoe trend that has made a strong comeback this summer is clogs. Their newly regained popularity can be credited to Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld and Louis Vuitton designer Marc Jacobs. These wooden soled shoes have come a long way from being initially meant for workers to now being a hit on fashion ramps worldwide. Today, clogs have become a must-have for every fashion diva and are apt to be worn even in the most upscale locations.
The modern clogs are more convenient and comfortable and often come with various embellishments like flowers and bows. Only the soles are made of wood, while the upper part comprises of leather, cloth or other fabric adjoined to the sides with steel toecaps.
Clogs have become a rage in the fashion circuits this year. It is the hottest shoe trend of 2010. Whether you are crazy for Karl’s version of sleek platform with high heels or Marc Jacob’s casual yet chic flat-soled clogs, both are high on comfort and can be matched with almost any outfit. These go well with dresses, suits, denims and shorts.
• Clogs are great to get a casual look when worn with a dress. This paired with a cardigan makes for a good work outfit. For a retro chic look, you can wear your clogs with a sexy silk number. Add further oomph to this look by accessorizing with a versatile handbag, headband and lace gloves. To get the Chanel spring/summer 2010, you may pair your clogs with a basic white T-shirt and dark denim leggings or skin-fit jeans. You may further complement your attire with an oversized bag.
• If you are in the mood to shock, pick up solid colored clogs with fur details. Marc Jacob’s collection is filled with weird combination clogs that use different fabric mixtures. Wear these with shorts, dresses, pants or skirts and a loose sweater to get the casual look bang on.
• The clogs at Celine’s redefine simplicity. Their soft shiny leather heels are apt for getting a sexy look when paired with a fitted dress or stretch pants. You can also wear them with short or mini skirt and a boyfriend blazer.
• Try the combination of high-heeled clogs, a crisp white shirt, a classic tote bag and oversized shades. Cigarette jeans and a mariniere also go well with these. For the androgynous look, wear your clogs with skin tight jeans and a deep blue sweater. Clogs paired with leather skirt and a white t-shirt are best for getting the rock chick look.
