Make Up Trends
Often as expressive as the clothes themselves, the eye styles on display during New York and London Fashion Weeks left no doubt that peepers have supplanted pouters, at least for this season. Although it’s too early to call a unifying trend, the motto could have been: attention, by any means necessary. Viewers were drawn to the windows of the soul through color (baby blue at Betsey Johnson, bronze goddess at Paul Smith), shape (sharply defined eyes complemented sleek silhouettes at Behnaz Sarafpour and Peter Som), and just plain drama (lush falsies at Calvin Klein, two-tone blue mascara at Custo Barcelona). So go on, have a look.
Beauty Marks
Next time you hit the makeup counter, why not re-invent rather than merely re-stock? Sure, we know that your trusty lipstick color has served you loyally over the years, but this is NOT a marriage: With cosmetics, straying can be a good thing. Still not convinced? Well, a picture is worth a thousand words. Just check out our photo gallery of behind-the-scenes beauty snaps from a wide range of recent runway shows to send your imagination soaring.

I’m loving the Matte face look that will be so popular for Fall 2010! As an oily-skin girl, I’m happy to wave goodbye to the “dewy” look that just doesn’t work for me. I’ve been trying out some new products to get ready for fall. Two faves? Stila’s new Smudge Stick liners – great for creating that dramatic deep set eye, and are really long lasting. I pair the Stila liner called Lionfish with a shadow called Woodland Fairy by Mattify Cosmetics (both are brown with hints of gold). It looks AWESOME! And isn’t as dark of a smokey eye as black – so you can wear it for a great daytime look. Mattify also has an incredible matte face powder that keeps shine away, called Mattify Loose Powder. I use it under and over my liquid foundation, because I need a LOT of oil control! These are going to be my staples for Fall 2010 makeup.
