The Last Collection of Alexander McQueen – Fall/Winter 2010-2011

Last Collection of Alexander McQueen

The world has not overcome yet the death of the fashion master whose opinion was determinant, whose world view was extravagant and different, and whose imagination had no limits. The designer died when his work was still in progress, and the collection for Fall – Winter 2010/2011 was only 80 per cent finished. Alexander McQueen planned the show to be spectacular and eye catching.

Instead, a quiet private show was organizes for close people. Nevertheless, it resulted impossible to conceal such a sensation as this collection. I bet that you have never seen anything like this before.

Alexander McQueen decided to get back to handcraft things that has been lost for fashion. He turned his eyes on the Dark Ages, and to our surprise found only beauty and light in it. If you have a good look at the shoes presented in the collection you will see unusual boots and booties featuring a high platform and adorned with multiple gold beads. When I look at them I tend to think about gold streams that hardened all at once and turned into elegant, exquisite and extravagant ornaments.

Alexander McQueen made an emphasis on boots and booties, but he included several thigh-high models in the collection as well. The thigh-highs are also girdled and feature leather straps with gold buckles.

I cannot but driving your attention to awesome heels designed by Alexander McQueen. In spite of being gilded, they feature a spiral carving on the surface. The most curious thing about the shoes is that they look trendy and ancient at the same time.
